I am a landscape and floral artist. I paint in acrylics and oils on Canvas. I live in Surrey, British Columbia with my husband and 2 young children. I was born in a small picturesque town called Summerland, British Columbia. I attended the University of British Columbia and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in History.
I have always had a deep passion for creativity, expression, and art. In 2007 I took a leap of faith and entered my first group art show with a local not for profit organization called VIBC. I ended up meeting my husband that night. He was also exhibiting his work!
Since, that day painting has been a huge part of my life. I crave time in the studio and manage to paint a few times a week. The minute I pick up the brushes my mind is at ease and my hands begin to flow.
I have been fortunate to be commissioned by collectors from all over North America and have many local collectors. I have also worked with Interior Designers to paint customized pieces for their projects. My work can be found at Kizmit Gift Gallery in Fort Langley and Gild & Co. in Vancouver Point Grey area.
Nature is a strong theme in my work. I try to visit our local beaches on the West Coast. White Rock, Kitz Beach, English Bay and Deep Cove are a few of my favourites. My childhood impressions of the rural landscape are evident in my work. By using the sky as a form of expression, I depict mood through the usage of colours and the formation of the clouds.
I also have a bit of an obsession with fresh flowers and treat myself to them often. Nature makes me feel vibrantly alive and I often sense something much deeper and spiritual in both flowers, and the natural landscape. I love to visit independent coffee shops In Vancouver where I can sit and gather inspiration from my imagination and put it all together.
